June 2023, I was preparing to put my career (at Cascade) of 10 years on hold, to enter a whole new world of motherhood. With this being my first child, I was blissfully unaware of the impact this little baby, Lucas, would have on my entire life. And what an incredible experience it was!
Fast forward 10 months, it was time to return to my job as a Senior Project Manager at Cascade and a whole new team. I had a range of feelings; nerves, sadness, excitement …
With the support from my line managers, we created a plan which worked for me (my family) and the company. My first few weeks consisted of staggered working days, flexible hours, regular check ins and shadowing the team to get up to speed.
Picking up familiar and new projects felt a little daunting at first, being honest, as a new mum juggling new responsibilities and my job was a lot to process. But this quickly became the norm again, with thanks to the amazing team support we have at Cascade.
Now with a couple of projects already successfully completed and at the foot of our busiest season, I am excited about what the future holds and ready to get stuck in!
